Chivas Regal Celebrates Real Friendship
Chivas Regal launched the "Here's to Real Friends" campaign on 12 December 2012 with an exclusive party at Zirca. I was invited to attend the event with 3 friends. Guests were given RFID - enabled friendship bands to enable us to check in at the various social stands within Zirca, which was in turn linked to our Facebook profiles.Chivas 12 Chivas Regal 12 Year Old Whisky - Blended from whiskies matured for at least 12 years
Specially-created Chivas cocktails such as The Chivas Handshake were served during the event. Having developed a slightly better appreciation of Whisky following another event in 2012 where guests were given a tutored tasting of the spirits, I tried the Chivas Regal 12 neat and found that it was warm and smooth with a hint of sweetness. Definitely worth a try if you like your whiskies.
A short film, "Here's to Big Bear" and a preview of its sequel, "Here's to Twinkle", were screened during the event. Directed by Academy Award winning short film maker, Joachim Back, these films examine the workings of modern male friendship by documenting how misadventures served to bring a group of 4 friends closer.
The 2 short films evoked memories of how various incidents served to make me realise the value of true friends - you know, the ones who stick by you when the going's tough. 2012 was an eventful year for me with huge road bumps (such as my accident and losing Mocha) that made me realise, to some extent, who my true friends were. Chivas Regal's "Here's to Real Friends" Video Contest
Fans of Chivas Regal are invited to walk in the footsteps of the 4 protagonists in the short films by capturing their own tales of friendship on video and submitting them to the Chivas 12 Singapore Facebook Page by 31 January 2013. Three finalists stand to win $1,200 each. The winner, along with 3 of their friends, will win a trip worth $12,000 to a secret location, where a private party will be held exclusively for them. So, round up 3 of your closest real friends and create a video celebrating your friendship to participate in the video contest.
