5th of February 2008 is pancake day - make sure to celebrate it by cooking up a batch of pancakes, and trying some new toppings.

----------------------------------- 5 Feb 2008 is Shrove Tuesday aka Pancake Day in Canada, UK, Ireland & Australia. The day is also known as Mardi Gras in France, US and other countries as it marks the last day to indulge before the season of Lent begins. Ash Wednesday falls on Chinese New Year's Eve this year (6 Feb 2008) which makes abstinence tough for Chinese folks due to the traditional Reunion Dinner. Thus, Tuesday (5 Feb 2008) has been designated as the day of abstinence and fasting instead. Looks like I'll have to get my pancakes on Monday instead. :P
