Dim Sum Dolly, Nibble & Scribble, Skinny Epicurean and I met for a late lunch over the weekend at Cedele, Wheelock Place. I had suggested Cedele as its been a while since I last ate there, plus I had a slight craving for pancakes.
Spicy Roasted Mushroom Garlic Linguine

Spicy Roasted Mushroom Garlic Linguine @ S$12.90++ Your choice of pasta tossed in aglio olio sauce

I was famished (as usual) and was aching for savoury carbs. I ordered a Spicy Roasted Mushroom Garlic Linguine. The linguine was overdone and was disappointing in terms of texture because of the lack of bite. In spite of the soggy pasta, the aglio olio sauce with roasted mushroom and garlic was tasty. I loved how the mushrooms had absorbed the nutty flavours of roasted garlic.

Rising food prices seem to have resulted in smaller food portions. This observation was shared by all of us at the table. We reckoned that this was a way of coping with the higher cost of raw materials whilst keeping the prices competitive or was this a way of "encouraging" diners to order more items. My hunger was unsated, I needed more food.

Wild Blueberry Pancakes with Sausages & Vanilla Butter

Wild Blueberry Pancake with Vanilla Butter & Maple Syrup @ S$12.90++ served with your choice of Bacon Rashers or Sausages

I couldn't resist ordering pancakes. My pancake craving had grown stronger from lusting over Skinny Epicurean's Macadamia Nut Pancake and Dim Sum Dolly's Mushroom Onion Pancake. They had kindly offered me some but given that the portion size was already so modest, I couldn't bear to deprive them even more. I am a picky eater who hates maple syrup so I requested that they omit it from my plate of pancakes and serve the butter separately.

As always, the pancakes were fluffy and adequately moist with juicy bursts of fresh blueberry. It went perfectly with the vanilla butter. The dish came with an option of Bacon Rashers or Sausages. Seeing how dry the rashers were on DSD's plate, I opted for sausages. I love sausages! Thankfully, the ones here didn't disappoint as they were firm and tasty with a slight hint of spices. The pancakes are a Must-Try!
