Nibbles @ Brussels Sprouts

It was Hari Raya Puasa Eve, MilkMilk and I met for a post-dinner snack at Brussels Sprouts. She was trying to help me with my new camera as she knew that I was too lazy to read the manual.

We ordered a Cheese platter (no decent picture taken as the "cam-ignoramus" was proving to be a bigger tech idiot than idiot-proof technology was prepared for) and a Charcuterie Platter to share. After much restraint in preventing herself from rolling her eyes, MilkMilk finally got me to snap a decent picture of the Charcuterie platter but the best shot came from my trusty little Canon P&S. I'm not trying to start a Canon vs Nikon fight here but as I was only using the kit lens for my Nikon, it was definitely not a fair comparison.

Parma Ham, Chorizo, Rosette, Salami, Smoked Duck & Saucisson a L'ail

I love cheese and cured meats! Though I had already eaten a very substantial dinner with MW prior to this, I couldn't help picking at the cured meats that lay before me. The brightly-coloured and thinly sliced hams and sausages were most enticing! My favourites were the Parma Ham, Chorizo (another nickname of mine) and Smoked Duck. I loved the duck for its slightly gamey and smoky flavour. I loved the Parma Ham for its rich, salty yet sweet taste. I loved the Chorizo for its spicy smokiness. The cheese was fairly good but I still prefer French cheeses especially Blue Cheese, Vacherin and Reblochon.

Tealights

My next assignment was to try to snap something interesting while MilkMilk stepped away to make a call...hmmm. I took a pic of the tealights...much to her chagrin. Anyway, I resorted to snapping a few random pics to get familiar with the camera.

Mo - the friendly bartender


Here's a pic of the jovial bartender, Mo, who provided much comic relief! He was a little disappointed that it was raining that night as he had intended to head to the Malay Village at Geylang Serai for some last-minute Hari Raya shopping. Cheers to you & the rest of the friendly staff at Brussels Sprouts! :)
