Executive Sashimi Set Lunch at Kinki Restaurant + Bar

While clearing leave, J and I met for a set lunch at Kinki Restaurant + Bar. We've been meaning to check out this place for quite a while as they have good lunch deals.

We were so happy to catch up that we ordered the Executive Sashimi Lunch Set as a little treat. We were pleasantly surprised to discover 2 slices of Chu-Toro (Fatty Tuna) along with the usual suspects such as Hotate (Scallops), Sake (Salmon), Hamachi (Yellowtail), Mekajiki (Swordfish) and Botan Ebi (Shrimp).  At first glance, it didn't look like a lot of food so we contemplated ordering some a la carte items for a more substantial meal. However, we decided to finish our sashimi before deciding what to order next. It was a good thing we didn't order additional portions because we soon found out that there was more than enough food to fill us. The sashimi was fresh and sweet which left us wanting more, if only there was tummy room. We decided that we should return on another occasion for dinner and drinks so we can try other items on the menu. The set comes with steamed rice, miso soup, salad and green tea mochi with red bean filling. I could barely eat by that point and I don't like red bean paste, as it's usually too sweet, so I didn't finish my dessert. If you're in the vicinity and looking for a place that serves decent Japanese fare, Kinki's worth a try!
